Imperfect Life &
Imaginary Life Forms
Man-made by Nature 天工人工 was a group show of four contemporary artists. Our artworks were not depictions of bonsai but explorations of the diverse concepts contained within the traditional form.
I prepared 2 pieces of artworks for this show. The first part was Imperfect Life, which consist of a series of 11 drawings of bonsai. The second part was the Investigation of Imaginary Life Form from Dulan. It was made during my residency in Tai Tung (eastern part of Taiwan) which was made up of driftwood and coral.
I would like to have a dialogue with plant in nature (driftwood) and bonsai.
